Neelix serves as the the USS Voyager's morale officer, chef, and occasional guide during their journey through the Delta Quadrant.

Throughout the series, Neelix's role as the ship's cook allows him to form connections with the crew through food and hospitality. He often uses his culinary skills to boost morale and create a sense of comfort and familiarity in the challenging conditions of the Delta Quadrant.
As the series progresses, he develops friendships with the ship's chief engineer, B'Elanna Torres, and the captain, Kathryn Janeway.
