When David Cannon found out that he could spin at superhuman speeds, he decided to use this ability for thievery as the Human Top. He was defeated by Giant-Man and the Wasp, and swore revenge. Cannon redesigned his costume and renamed himself Whirlwind, following on his revenge against Hank and Jan both on his own and as a member of the Masters of Evil.
