MISSION: Unauthorized Visit to Tarchannen III

PROFILE: LaForge, Geordi, was visited by former shipmate, Susanna Leitjen. Both LaForge and Leitjen were members of an investigative Away Team to Tarchannen III five years prior. All other members of the Away Team had disappeared. LaForge witnessed Leitjen's life-form transform as she conveyed the information. LaForge searched for the solution to the mystery, while Leitjen was placed under the care of Dr. Crusher. LaForge reviewed the Away Team's archived log tapes in the holodeck and found the presence of an alien being; LaForge himself, then, began to transform. He absconded to the planet surface as a partially-evolved life-form. Dr. Crusher identified and surgically removed the alien reproductive strand that was rewriting Leitjen's DNA. LaForge, almost totally transformed and visible only through ultra-violet light, was cured by the removal of the parasite and returned to standard form.
