Clive Barker's Lord of Illusions was a horror/thriller from 1995 starring Scott Bakula and Famke Janssen. Harry D'Amour is a popular private detective in Clive's books, introduced in The Last Illusion and last seen in The Scarlet Gospels. Barker cast Bakula and used ideas in The Last Illusion to craft a new story for the film. Harry D'Amour is always drawn to cases that bring him to the dark forces, where he walks the line between good and evil. To make the figure, I used a combination of two Angel figures from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I sculpted shoulders that overhang to cover up the ball joints a bit. Since he is wearing a pull over shirt, I had to sand and sculpy the sleeve cuffs. I cut out the neck and inserted a new one that had a ball joint. The head is Captain Archer from Star Trek Enterprise, and I had to dremel it to convert to a ball joint. The hands come from a Wesley figure from the Buffy line. I used medical tape on his right hand that covers a wound from the villainous Miller having bitten him. I used strips of black cardboard to create the gun harness, adding small latches from parts fodder. The gun had a longer barrel, so I shortened it and made a new sight to go on the end. The backdrop is meant to depict the repository at the Magic Castle, a place that contains all the knowledge of illusions and magic. I used two stands from the Buffy line, glued together and painted. I added the lights on the wall. The bookshelf contains lots of miniature magic books and a detailed human skull. I have included a screenshot from the movie for comparison.
