Hey all, I’ve not uploaded my usual stuff as I keep stop starting projects and now have bundles of stuff to do for the foreseeable future but what I’ve decided to focus on at the moment is Lego Harry Potter. My Lego Hogwarts first small basic attempt and my huge proper attempt are obviously still uploaded here so check those out if you haven’t seen them, but around the time the Crimes of Grindlewald came out I started paying attention to Lego Harry Potter again. I bought the years 1-4/5-7 bundle game and got excited buying the sets and incorporating them into my Hogwarts. I noticed after rewatching the films however and seeing the large lego Hogwarts set in micro scale that certain aspects of my castle were wrong and this irritated me. The castle layout changes in each film and it’s hard to understand it’s layout without a lot of research and once I did I realised the hall is on the wrong side, the staircase is in the round building and the clock tower should be on the back and the bridge to the mainland was added in the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and in the Crimes of Grindlewald it’s still there so that’s where it should be now. So I set to work and had to swap around the chamber of secrets and philosophers stone challenges placements and rebuilt entire sections. If you want to see progress and updates please visit my new Twitter @Deaditor1. I’m really happy with a lot of things but now onto the main event.

I was sceptical at first when I saw the new wand design. I’d grown up using sticks and coloured sticks were fine to differentiate each wand with Voldemort’s being white and the elder wand being tan, death eaters using black and hero’s usein brown with the exception of Umbridge I gave a red wand and to Lockhart a orange one to match their uniqueness. One of my major concerns was spells as cone pieces had been the traditional style but I thought little flames would be a good idea using old red ones or orange if I could find them and connecting them to make a long flame effect. The issue was no neon green for the killing curse just dark green and when I found neon green they were the new flame style with no connector peg parts. So I hit a road bump until I saw the Ghost Train fire piece and thought that’s perfect and then found a red transitioning flame that goes to yellow. Put them together and voila priori incantatem effect achieved. So using a Dremel I made an incision to allow this effect to be popped onto a wand end. Then today I drilled a hole through a neon blue stud so I could have Harry perform a patronus shield.

As for unique wands I originally followed the old concept of Elder wand has to be tan, in this case dark tan, so no one else can have same colour wand even though they do. Then I had an idea and used the several dark tan Wanda I had amazed to make a proper Elder Wand. I cut 2 bottom handle parts off a 2 tan wands and then drilled a hole trough them and ten fitted down the wands length then when set properly I super glued them and it’s achieved a proper look. I did this as I know Lego probably won’t and if they see this I’d like some credit hahhaa though that’s unlikely lol. Lucius’ wand was easy as I had already done the detail on the old wands: taking a Lego snake head off the body and sticking to a bar wand then painting the head silver leaving the eyes green like emeralds. So again I just pooped the head off the old bar wand, sanded down the end of a black wand and stuck on. The major new part was I wanted the wand in the stick to work like a holster as it does in film. A normal bar is too brittle and I tried it and it snapped, so I ended up using a broom stick which has softer bendier plastic and hollowed out so now the wand can fit in the cane or be drawn. Today I did the same thing for Mad-Eye. I used a short bar piece and a candle stand/ telescope piece or whatever that part is and drilled a hole through so Moody can put his wand through and also shortened it so it would stand on the ground nicely. Now I know Moody doesn’t do this, but I wanted him to have his wand in his staff as he uses the staff in combat and he doesn’t have a place to store it and I wanted him to hold the polyjuice potion. I prefer the old body and the pirate leg but appreciate the new head and hair so combined old with new (did the same for Victor Krum as his new head is rubbish compared to the old one). It’s a shame you can’t get a dooku lightsaber in brown as I like the design in the game, though fun fact the old Lego set and in game mode has the metal leg on the wrong side for Moody! The new one is correct but yeah I prefer the pirate leg. Brown coat is just online order, but you can make a coat out of cloaks. Bellatrix I just bent a brown wand as that’s the colour she has and shape it is, simple lol

For the Animals I took a Lotr white horse and used methelated spirits on a cuetip to wipe away the details except the eyes, then griddle a hole into the head and stuck in a horn. I don’t know why this idea isn’t a Lego idea just have a hole in unicorn ones it’s 1 extra mound. Firenze is Kanan Jarus’ Head as he has that goatee, orc hair with ears and Tonto’s body from Lone Ranger affixed to a horse. I removed the horses head (so have a Gangster horse head prank to plan on Malfoy) and trimmed down the next and stuck a Lego pelvis inside after shaving it down also. This was a difficult custom to make and I head were getting Centaurs soon but I don’t regret making him as I appreciate the character for the first film and wanted to capture that. I thought I’d throw in my version of Lupins werewolf. Yes grey would be more ideal but we see him in the dark so he could be brown grey idk, point is he should be all werewolf not just new hands and a stupid big head as done before, so this is just a Lego minifigures werewolf combined with the Man bat body, I for the idea from someone’s stop motion thought they just used man bat with normal arms.

I thought I’d also show you can get Chrome custom stuff online (again see my Hogwarts post to see some of this as I have given wormtongue a properly coloured hand in chrome silver. And I also have my Tri Wizard cup custom which is soooo much better than the build they tried to pass off. It’s all lego, just 3 chrome cup handles stuck onto a blue goblet so anyone could make it and that’s how it looks in the film. Also put my goblet of fire behind it to show how it should look not the gold basic cup with a cone and 1 small orange flame sticking out of it, the fire was blue lol.

Anyway the point of this post is to say I am still doing stuff so here is some work and my Twitter is up and running @Deaditor1 so please follow for updates on this and other projects.
Thanks for having a look and well done if you read the whole rant lol!
