UPDATE2: finally found a head I liked: a silver age Aquaman that with the glasses and a thinner neck could look sinister. Today I found some Halloween bat rings at the dollar store and at last I could make a shadow force I can be happy with!

UPDATE: Wasn't too pleased with the Aquaman head so I replaced it with a Steve Rogers one. Also got rid of the big shadow demon and replaced it with more shadow smoke and tendrils using black painted twist-ties and black electrical tape

The Shade became one of my favorite characters from James Robinson's Starman. I finally decided to give him a go. The base figure is a Mad Love Joker. I gave him a Movie Masters Joker longcoat to give him more heft and Victorian look. The head comes from a DCUC Aquaman. The cane is from fodder and the cane head, believe it or not, is a lock of hair from a female action figure that had the right eagle-head shape that I needed. The tie came from a Commissioner Gordon. The hat used to belong to the Penguin. It looked awkward on his head so I made him hold it. The sunglasses are fodder painted black. I decided to add some of his shadowland effects using twist ties painted black. The shadow-demon behind him was made from those little Halloween ghost stickers painted black and stuck together
