I saw a lot of people on Instagram using the new ML "movie venom" as a comic venom by simply painting the symbol on him. I got that movie figure in hand, and thought it was awful. He's awkward tall, skinny legs, and his muscle mass is a joke for any venom comic fan, you know that isn't comic venom. His scale is way off with other figures next to him. So I looked around a little, and saw a while back Poundz978 did a great venom custom on a Caliban BAF!! The upper body has the correct muscle mass here. I sanded down the joints on his bicep swivel and ab crunch to avoid paint rub, as these areas are a bit tight. I used the Monster BAF venom head and thought size wise it worked well. I think the monster venom body is too big, old venoms are too small... and movie venom is just a joke for comic scale. This Caliban Venom is the best. The Caliban mold is impressive, and I'm surprised they don't use it more. I think it could even work for a larger Warpath that we all want. I've seen some people use it for Sabertooth and thats impressive too. I used Testors gloss black and Testors gloss white. Painting those thin lines on the symbol was the hardest part by far. One of calibans thumbs sticks up awkwardly, so I heated, bent down, and held with wires in the spot I wanted until it cooled. Bottom Line: Comic Venom should be bigger. ![]() |

I made the same mistake when I made my Venom using Space Venom as a base. Trust me, the smaller head from the earlier ML Venom works much better for the proportions.
