And here we have the noble Elrond, customized and big time upgrade of the Toybiz figure. Painting the face was a great challenge. I used the Asmus toys figure for reference.
What I did:

CLOTH
A replaced the cape with dark blue silk curtain fabric. I added iron wire below for posing. The fabric needs glueing, for it cannot be stitched... I made a working hood with iron wires, magnet fasting behind the cape and all BUT for posing the hair I needed to glue it down on the hood. So no working hood after all. :-0

The skirt I replaced with also silk curtain fabric. The pattern is designed and painted by myself. It has iron wire too and a goldwire edge.
For an elf, I liked to create a leafe like shape with three oval pieces of skirt.
The sword is made from wood so I could press in the decorations like the replica sword of Hadhafang has. I did so with a sharp tiny screwdriver.
The hilt can be removed so the sword can slide into the closed hand.

WEAPONS
Elrond did not have a shield in the movie, nor as an action figure. That is ridiculous. You want your heroes to be protected in the field! No helmet is bad enough. So I gave him a Gil-Galad decorated shield. He is nobility as well, so becomes a fancy shield.

Also I gave him real hair. The original was stunning, but way to massive for an aged elf. And too much plastic-like.
The armor I repainted allover, bringing the details to next level by highlighting everything.

The belt is real leather, the buckle is handmade.

The sword fits in a handmade sheath from cardboard. The decoration is done with greenstuff. I gave the sheath fittings for hanging on two leather fastings.

ADD-ONS
The figure has a very stooping stance, which I did not really like, so I straightened the legs somewhat when attaching the lower legs to the ball-jointed hips of a Gandalf figure. He can step sideways now.
The original figure had no chainmail hanging down his rear. You do want that part of the body protected, so I created a second piece of armor there.

Enjoy this beauty! Another elf and groupshot of three is coming up next week.
