no shame or anything, but I would be interested in the in universe explanation for the canonically married with children Sue Storm to go out wearing THIS outfit to do her superheroing. (again, no shame to YOU, the figure looks great, it just seems strange to me to have her wearing this)

If I remember correctly and bearing in mind im a lot older now and this was back in the 90s. I think at the time if memory serves Sue was going through a period when she felt neglected by Reed and decided to spice up her wardrobe to get his attention. It also turned out that this period was when it was also revealed that she was starting to become possessed by Malice. She later tamed down the outfit and filled in the cut outs.

You nailed it. She was having self-confidence issues and wanted to wear something that made her feel attractive, got attention, and most importantly, got Reed's attention. And then they went with the Malice option to explain it away and get her back to her normal wardrobe. lol
