Hi All I've had a few 501st Troopers and a Vader in the bits box for a while now and decided to do a simple display to show them off, The decision to do a Death Star scene was very easy as I think it really sets the figures off. RECIPE Vader - Vader is from Hasbro and has had his joints glued and puttied together, his ropes have been set in position using watered down material glue. Once the ropes dried I painted him using Games Workshop paints, I added Woodlland scenic's real water to the armour to give it a gloss look. Troopers - The Troopers are also from Hasbro which are the special (Vaders 501st Legion). I removed the Imperial logo from there chest as I didn't like it, I glued and puttied the joints together and then repainted them using Games workshop paints and added Woodlland scenic's real water to the armour to give it a gloss look. Base - Is a small picture frame I got from a $2 shop it has been re-inforced using foam core and the the floor is thick cardboard which has had the floor panels scribed into it using a model knife and tweezers. The wall has been made using cardboard and balsa wood, the small control panel has been made using cardboard and 1/35 pieces from the bits box The banners are also from the (Vaders 501st Legion) and Once I was happy with the look of the wall I painted the whole base using Reaper and Games Workshp paints. The has had a few coats of Woodlland scenic's real water to it to give it that polished look. Ron ![]() |
