Welcome to the community! This is a great looking first custom; she's very clean. A good thing to do would be to check out the tutorials pages on the site; they are a treasure trove of usefull info. As Doc said, paintrub is avoidable and there is a tutorial about it as well. Again, welcome, it's good to have you, and great work!

Yeah, thinning down your paint isn't going to do much really, unless you're using some strong paint like Tamiya or Testors. Most of the time you're going to have to crack the body apart and sand away some of the plastic around the joint so there's nothing for the joint to rub against.
The paint-job looks fine, where are the brush-marks?

Considering this is yer 1st custom, U should be hella proud!
