The hair-do on this White Phoenix isn't nearly as big as the Anna Mercury, but it was a bit more complex to make. Wanted to create a hairstyle that had a fluidity to it (like levitating) but still have that arcane quality as well. Additional hair pieces came from other figs with long hair and even tails from toy horses were brought in for the job. Sculpt work was done in and around the hair pieces to bring it all together. Still really dig the Poison Ivy head as the definitive Jean Grey (or darn near close) and decided to use it again for this version. The Nova base figure comes painted gold already, and has that reflective quality that regular gold paints just can't achieve (yet).
Was planning to use this base figure for a new resurrected Dark Phoenix custom (angry version) but recently found a better base for that project, we'll haveta wait and see how that goes as she's still roasting on a back burner...
