Description: I originally started this figure shortly after "Civil War" first showed the Penance but easily became frustrated with the figure at the time so it got put away in my unfinished projects drawer and forgotten about. After I got back into the full swing of customizing, this was one of the first piece I was determined to finish.

Simple use of Archangel's body (I find this to be a real generic base figure to use for a lot of customs) with armor made from a combination of Annihilus' shoulder pads and sculpting. I wanted my Penance to have a removable helmet so a Prof. X head was a good choice being one of the few choices for a bald character. The helmet was made from combining the Cerebro helmet, an Iron Man mask, sculpt, and random spikes from my scraps bin. His "bindings" were made from simple ribbon and metal rings found strolling down the jewelry aisle at a craft store. A full body paint job of blood red, boltgun metal, and black. The "energy" in his hands was made from Blackheart's movie accessory, the base was made by splitting open an accessory that came from an Orko figure and repainted with some random paint color I found in a hobby store's discount bin. It matched nicely with the Penance figure, and his speedball powers.
