I got really excited over the upcoming Terminator Salvation that I had to make some Terminator inspired customs. I always liked the future scenes that are shown in each movie and the dark and gritty atmosphere they convey. This custom in particular was inspired by Kyle Reese's flashback in T1 where the Terminator infiltrates the Tech Com Bunker and starts killing everyone. I thought it was cool how that stuff happened all the time and humans had to constantly be on guard once the T-800s went online. We haven't seen any more of that kind of thing in the movies yet, but hopefully we will. I started off with the McF toys Endoskeleton and started building out from there. Because mine was broken and in so many different pieces, I ended up gluing most of the joints together. While some still move, it's more of a statue now than an 'action figure'. I knew I wanted it to be battle damaged and for most of the machine parts to be visible as well. I sculpted on as much flesh as I thought was necessary and then a tattered resistance uniform. Let me know what you think. ![]() |

the material is just T-shirt material and after being cut to shape, the edges are sealed with fabric glue to avoid fraying.
Then the cloth is painted over, it looks stiff but is still flexible.
It looks like the material is stiff, or starched somehow. It works really well with the figure, and avoids the Peter-Pan-ish edges that fabric on smaller scale (heck, even Mego/12" scale) sometimes take on.
