Woden son of Thor and Sif.
Son of Thor and Sif, though from an alternate far-flung future, Woden came to age during the time of the Guardians of the Galaxy of the Universe in the 31st Century. Spending the majority of his formative years at home with his mother while his father adventured, he was a troubled youth. A born warrior, not tied to Asgard by the duty of rule as his own father had been, Thor did not have as easy a time filling the role of father very well.

While his wife, Sif, easily gave up adventuring for the role of homemaker, Thor could not quell the fire in himself and continued his adventuring ways. Without a father to teach him right from wrong, and with Odin to busy ruling to take on the task, the teenage Woden was a brooding bully. Displeased with the man her son was becoming, and knowing the source, Sif petitioned the All-Father. Odin forced Thor to stay home and to take up the responsiblities of a Father.

Thor did his best to teach Woden, and the boy started to feel pride for his proud heritage. He began training his son in the same lessons Odin himself had given him eaons before, including training in weaponry and battle tactics. Thor even trained his son in the weilding of Mjolnir, being as his son shared many of his own powers over the weather. Yet Thor could not change who he was, and longed to continue his adventures. As he began brooding on what he considered his past, and started spending all of his time in the mead-halls, Woden became fed up and left home.

Woden traveled for many years, honing his battle prowess and learning the lessons of civilry and humility his father had learned before him. For a time he met and travelled with the Guardians of the Galaxy themselves. He would not to be seen in Asgard again for several years. Hearing the stirrings of trouble on the horizon, Woden began to make his way back to Asgard, knowing his help would be needed.

It was not until Loki, and his army of Inhumans, attacked Asgard, that Woden was driven to return to the place of his birth. Having become a sad bloated shadow of his former self, Thor was simply no longer worthy to even wield Mjolnir. Embarassed by his failure, and not willing to accept it, he in fact fashioned a cheap replacement prop. This would come out during his battle with his brother, and leave Asgard at Loki's mercy. Yet, before Loki could unleash his power and wreak total devastation on Asgard, Woden, bearing Mjolnir, announced his return. Woden and Loki then battled much as his father had faced his Uncle during the adventures of his youth. Proving that the lessons in the use of Mjolnir by Thor had been put to good use, Woden began forcing Loki back.

His ally, Talon, using the Amulet of Agamotto,was able to trap Loki and the Inhumans in a mystic bubble that was reinforced by Starhawk. Then, finally working together, three generations of Asgardian royalty - Odin, Thor, and Woden, sentenced Loki and his army to the Black Canyon, where they were to remain for all time. Spending time with his parents and family, Woden would decide to set up residence in Asgard once more, though he would continue to Adventure as his father had once done.

Sometime later, a creature named Silverback, who had incredible strength, made it's way to Asgard. SIlverback sat on Bifrost, driving Heimdall to tell him to leave. Refusing the beast then attacked Heimdall. Woden came upon the scene and defending the elder God, began to fight Silverback. Woden then created a vortex and transported them to Midgard, and what was left of the Great Lakes area where they continued their battle. Woden defeated Silverback and left him on the planes of the radioactive wasteland. Woden later aided Phoenix IX in defeating Ubiquitor.
