G1 Devastator (Transformers) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:16782
Name:G1 Devastator
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Transformers
Creator:suprasizeme
Date Added:August 14, 2009
Base Figure:Knockoff Devastator
Height:11.00 inches
Years ago I purchased this crappy knockoff of Devastator off of the net. When I got I was obviously disappointed so I gave it to my then 3 year old and he of course destroyed it.
A couple of months ago I was going through his room and found some the pieces of it and was about to throw it out or use it as fodder. I also found a Bioncle figure in his room and then it hit me. I could combine the two to make a super articulate Devastator. So I attached the constructicon pieces onto the bionicle frame with nuts and bolts. Sculpted his forearms and shins and added fodder till he looked right. I cut his face and forehead out of the figure and reshaped it with fixit sculpt to more resemble him in the G1 cartoon. I mixed tamiya clear green and lemon yellow to get his color just right. He is kinda like a revotech figure with tons of articulation, he has ball joints in his head, shoulder, elbows, wrists, hips, and knees. Tell me what you think. Thanks for looking.

You actually see a lot of combiners on TFw2005 that don't transform anymore. I dug out my knockoffs and am going to start a project after seeing this. They all need the parts to combine so I have to get creative. It looks good though and ten to one those parts woulda broke even if your son hadn't tortured the figures lol.

It's a great custom non the less, but there has to be some sacrifice when adding something the figure lacks. In this case more articulation in place of transformation. Dev' looks good though, nice execution on the articulation.

Sorry patraw but having them transform or break up in to individual constructicons was not even an option on this custom.
My son made sure of that when he broke off all the little robot heads and arms. He broke off many other pieces I had to super glue back on just so Devastator would look sorta complete. But I have thought about purchasing another and remaking like this but still transforms. Thanks for the nice comment.

Excellent Devastator redesign--it's too bad you couldn't get it to be super articulated and still come apart into the individual figures too.

Merge Prime? As awesome as that title is, I gotta say I'm not that wonderful myself. I'm just starting this customizing gig, so I just tend to experiment more than other people do, and if it god-forbid turns out well people assume me a guru.
That said, I will still answer to Merge Prime if that's what you're gonna call me anyway.

Thanks for the comments. You guys are some o the best customizers on the realm getting these comments means a lot to me. And Merge Prime I am not a good painter, so I will happily take a 8.5 out of ten.

When you watch the cartoons, you see this guy with skinny parts and thick parts. This figure translates that very well.
Extra props for the creatvity and unique idea!

Oh, man, you are my hero now. This is kinda like what I do, only much cleaner and with a more direct paint job, plus on a larger scale, and more epic, and...
You see what I'm getting at.
My only left want would be a little more texture to the paint, but that woulda killed the initial transformerocity of it.
8.5 out of ten, exceptional but not peeeeeerfect.
