Slap Happy: The clown without feeling

The man who would one day become Slap Happy was born with a birth defect that dulled all sensitivity in his body. Not able to feel the world around him, he became the ultimate outsider. One day as a child, he asked a girl he liked to be his girlfriend, disgusted by him the girl slapped him in the face. At that moment an explosion of feeling filled his body, he felt for the first time he could remember and it was a good feeling. He soon found out while his body suffered from null sensitivity, his pain receptors doubled any feeling that would reach them. In high school, he became a pain junkie, getting into fights, inflicting pain on himself, to him sensation was the ultimate high. As an adult, he became seriously depressed as he found normal jobs weren’t for people with his unique problem and he was running out of bars to pick fights in. One day like a sign from the heavens, a flyer for a circus flew in his face; he went to a showing hoping he may find someone to cause him some pain. Instead of pain, he found inspiration in the form of clowns as clowns brought entertainment to the masses and always seemed like they got hurt like no one’s business. The man went to clown college, graduated top of his class and was hired at a world-class circus. His shtick of allowing annoying circus goers and allowing them to slap him made him famous and rich with plenty of endorsement deals, he was even presented his own segment during the show. It was during one of these segments that disaster would strike and end these happy times. As he locked himself in the lion’s cage and stuck his right hand into the lion’s mouth then began taunting the lion, little did he know become of his lack of sensitivity that the lion was grinding his hand in it’s mouth. The doubled pain hit him all at once inducing a stroke. He awoke in the hospital to find that his right hand was amputated, he soon returned to work only to find out that clowns with one hand seem to creep people out. He was let go from the circus because of his self-destructive behavior and soon after all of his endorsement deal dried up. He became a hermit, living in a descent home deep in the woods for three pain free years. On one night in his bedroom wanting to put an end to his pitiful existence, the man had a cocked gun in his mouth and as he was ready to pull the trigger he heard a noise coming from his downstairs. He creped to the lower level of his house to discover a thief in his house, he jumped out and surprised the robber only to find he had nothing to attack the burglar with except an homemade open palm metal hand attached where his real right hand was. The man slapped the bandit with the metal hand, the vibrations ran up his arm making him feel that sweet pain he remembered and while the smack didn’t knock the thief out, the excited look on the crook’s face was locked into the man’s mind and at that instant whether it was a moment of clarity or his mind finally gone over the deep edge the man started laughing maniacally. Freaked out the bandit escaped the house leaving the man with his thoughts. All his life he wanted people to slap him, but maybe it was they who really wanted to be slapped and with this twisted view in his mind and a sincere death wish the man used his fortune to become Slap Happy: The clown without feeling. Working himself back into shape, building multiple trick hands, and clown props, he travels across the world from place to place slapping people for no apparent reason other than he wants to.
