Here's the spawn of Venom: Carnage.

Carnage is a Marvel Legends Iron Fist figure, with a shoulder fix and resculpted details. The texture on his body is achieved by dragging hot glue over him. The paint job was actually very difficult to do, and I found that it takes great restraint to make something look chaotic. He has several washes of dark red over a red base, then the black detailing, red highlights, then another wash with dark red.

His head is from a recent Spider-Man Carnage figure. I used this more for size purposes as I removed and replaced the jaw with a sculpted one, and shaved off all the detailing on the head and resculpted that. His teeth are the points of flossers.

He has an alternate 'unmasked' head, which can be swapped out using the magnet on his neck peg. This was an SOTA Street Fighter Adon head, which had that great psycho look. I widened the eyes and resculpted the mouth a little, before totally resculpting the hair and adding the symbiote effect and tendrils. I was really happy with the head as the super-fine milliput I use means that the thing tendrils are suprisingly tough, and not brittle.

His hands are from ML Sinister Six Spider-man and I extended the fingers using toothpicks covered in putty, and then added the claws with the points of flossers.

His wrists are taken from a SOTA Guile figure so that they can be changed using a peg and socket system. His alternate hands are an ML Iron Fist fist with claws made from a flosser, and a fodder based axe.

The final touch to Carnage is his tendrils. I made 5 bendable tendrils by covering lenghts of electrical wire in hot glue and attaching a magnet to one end. I painted up the tendrils in the appropriate colour scheme (making sure to add a little PVA glue to the paint so that it doesn't crack or flake off as it bends) and then drilled a few holes into the figure. I inserted magnets into these holes and hid them with paint and hot glue so they don't ruin the aesthetic of the figure. I attached magnets to the end of the tendrils, and they can hold tight onto the body at different points (his upper arms, the back of his right calf, the side of his left leg, and on the shaft of his axe).

I was really happy with how he turned out, as I wasn't convinced that I could mimic the red and black colour scheme of the comics. I always thought that as he's never had a figure that was painted in the comic style that it must be impossible, however, it's just complicated to do. I was also scared that he would come out looking like the Medicom figure (as if he was just wearing a body stocking). I think the texturing really helped limit this effect, and as I said, I'm really happy how he turned out.

Hope you like him.
