Legendary half-man, half-moth creatures that can be encountered in Konami's 2006 Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin [Japanese title, Akumajo Dracula: Gyarari- Ofu Rabirissu (Demon Castle Dracula: Gallery of Labyrinth)] Nintendo Dual Screen (DS) video game. Mothman also makes an appearance in Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow, although he's well hidden in that particular title.

When agitated, Mothmen hop and flap about in a lively fashion. All this activity shakes the powder-like scales loose from their colorful wings, and, unfortunately for anyone it falls upon, the stuff is extremely toxic. Poisoning results from the scales either being inhaled into the lungs, or the venomous coating getting absorbed through direct skin contact. Like many common moths, these creatures are irresistibly attracted to light (indeed, the only way to even encounter this rare monster in Dawn of Sorrow is to turn on a spotlight in the Pinnacle area). Their papery wings burn readily with the application of even the slightest flame and petrifying attacks will cause them to plummet from the air like the proverbial stone, usually with disastrous, if not fatal, results for the fragile creature on impact with the earth.

Yeah, Mothman is a "real" phenomena and is the inspiration for the game's critter. Konami lifts creatures for its Castlevania games from all sorts of sources--other cryptids, like Bigfoot and the Jersey Devil also make appearances in various Castlevania titles.

No one would want to see it?????????, I sure would, your work is always top notch and I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I'd love to learn from the master of the mini sculpt.

I don't have anyway to capture video, and if I did, I don't think anyone would want to watch the several hour process (unless they needed a cure for insomnia). :P
I'm afraid this figure isn't articulated--it's completely immobile. Also, I goofed on the dimensions when I submitted, he's 1.3 inches high, not 0.9.

Amazing! One day you really need to make a tutorial vid of you making one of these. Very impressive how you can add articulation and everything.
