Probably the best looking Colossus on this site was made by Realm legend fastfreddie. His expertise at rendering chrome to LOOK like chrome, by painting all the shading and crisp details, is nothing short of a masterpiece. It takes a bit more than just patience or a pact with Lucifer to create all that beautiful artwork. It was his style of painting that made the figure come alive and be completely original.
Studying the work FF had done made it a standard to shoot for and really helped in creating this version, in the McGuiness style.
Used a Captain Atom for the head and Mr. Sinister for the legs. Additional sculpt work was done to beef-up the figures. Have always preferred curved metal claws for Wolvie (as opposed to the regular straight ones). They look way sexy and more lethal! Haven't seen FF post any new customs since his entry in the Turn it Up! contest. His contest custom was not only an epic piece of art, but it also inspired the music behind the band. If you're a fan of biker rock (or Frazetta art), it should be instantly recognizable!
It took great imagination to come up with a custom that totally made you think of the musicians, without actually making them. Kinda easy to just slap some plastic together, hand it a guitar or microphone and give it a name. But it was pretty smart to come up with a custom where the musicians didn't have to be there and still totally rocked the stadium! And in the spirit of Flirtin' with Disaster, wouldja believe the custom got pinched for being "non-conforming" to the guidelines of the contest? Apparently voting for it wasn't enough to keep it in the running. And ever since then, he's been AWOL lol. Hope FF one day finds the time or the will to post his new stuff and return to the Realm, coz we all still have so much to learn from this brutha.
