Steve started with a cheap GI Joe imitation because it looked like it would be simpler to remove details from, came with great accessories and was cheap.

I also used a 1977 Obi-Wan Kenobe head - which is probably a sacrilege, but at this point in my life I like Steve a lot more than Obi-Wan. Plus, there's a lot more Obi-Wans than Steve Zissous. This head was suggested by someone over at the GI Joe forums (thanks).

Obviously there was a whole lot of Aves sculpt involved, a lot of paint, and some patience. I'm not perfectly happy with all of the sculpt and lines, but I figure that's what a second custom is for.

This is my first custom, but I plan on doing a few more Steves, then the rest of the crew.
