Honestly, he is the crocodile hunter. The crocodile would have been the perfect villain and not have gotten this bad vibe. Hope next time you use better judgement and really respect his memory as the crocodile hunter. Thanks, and hope you all can respect my opinion.

I'm NOT AGREEING WITH PULPY, BUT A CROCODILE VILLIAN WOULD ALSO BE A COOL CONCEPT.

everyone is entitled to express themself artistically, I think the ideas are very original and they do look great, too soon? eh, maybe...but listing them on a certain sight....I do not agree with that

SOME PEOPLE SHOULD THINK BEFORE WRITING!! ... but can be done? some people feel envy for your excellent work as an artist and looking for excuses to criticize. Keep it up and thanks for being ORIGINAL!

I can't speak for everybody who posted negatively, but I'm not criticizing Jin's work. He's great, and these are excellently executed customs. Jin is a godfather of this medium. I'm not questioning that. What I am questioning is the taste of the subject matter. The Irwin figure looks great fodder or not, and the Irwin figure alone would have been enough to be a tribute, but the fact that he has an enemy named death ray. That's in poor taste. He's the croc hunter, he could of easily made a crocodile themed villain.
The guy has living friends and relatives. If you were going to pay homage or tribute to the guy you wouldn't do something so obviously offensive and directly related to the guys untimely demise.

OK.. So you agree with Steve Irwin custom, but not the other (death ray).. right?

Correct, I find pairing it with the other is what makes it offensive. Trust me, I'm not criticizing the quality of Jin's work. In fact this is why I think it sucks he would do this. He's like a Gretzky, Tyson, or Jordon of what customizers do. Straight up, he's one of the legends. I mean what serious customizer hasn't taken a spin through his works and tutorials? You hope a role model like that would have made a better choice.

No no no, I have backed Jin for a long time but thid is just wack. I never said anything about his skills. But how dare you post something like this. I guess he wanted some people to start responding to his post so more cuz lackluster and disrespect always draws more attention. As you can see at oh a whopping 25 comments now? I don't have to do shock value or disrespect the dead to do a cool custom. Again, think about if his family saw this. I'd rather have my own brain and opinion rather than follow someone just because they have some skill. You want people to comment and crotique your work, but never comment on hardly anyone elses work? HAHAHAH!
I'm Jin Saotome and I am the best.... a long time ago!

hahahaha.... there is some jealousy here !!... then if Jim is wrong to make a custom Steve I. .. Also Hot toys and Mattel are wrong to make the figure Heath Legder.. right?...

There is a difference in regards to Mattel and other companies making Joker figures using Heath Ledger's likeness and Making a toy of an actual person. I personally like this custom of Steve Irwin, I agree that the choice of villain is kinda tacky though. I understand your sentiment, Insane-Marvel, but remember this was a actual person that this custom figure represents, not a likeness based off a character he portrayed.

Well I for one think these came out great. Very creative for sure. I really don't see why people are trippin out over these. Maybe makin the Ray was a bit much but the figs are great. I do agree that you could comment more on other peoples work and respond to comments left on yours.

I love this, and I don't think it is distasteful. I like the way that you made him an awesome super hero. I think it is a great tribute.

I don't know man. I don't think you're being all too distasteful, but profiting off an action figure parodizing someone's death? That's just cold. At least donate some to his daughter's charity!

Crikey indeed! I remember being at work when a colleague said he had died. I told him not to joke about sh!t like that, but unfortunately it was true. I was sad for days, I loved that guy. No one jumps into a piranha-infested river and wrestles a caiman with their bare hands. That's just whacked! But that was just some of the crazy, outback stunts Steve was known for. And even though he was fearless, he always put his childlike exuberance in the forefront - educating us, while still keeping true to the man he was.
This is an AMAZING tribute to one of the finest superheroes of our time! Looking at your custom, I'm still rolling with the giggles! What better way to remember him.

I make it a point not to comment on Jins work, as he doesn't comment on other artsist that are on his level. I can name a few. Then you go and do this? Let the dearly departed be just that Mr. Mallamas. It's like all the Elvis and Tupac records that kept coming out after they died. I don't respect this at all and I respect you even less as a customizer/ artist. Damn dude, just wrong.

Poor taste dude, and trying to pass this off as homage, well that's just wrong. This is clearly ridicule. Death Ray?!! Come on! There's an old saying "let the dead bury the dead...". Karma has a way of working these things out.

This is absolutely distasteful. Calling it an 'homage' does not hide the fact that you're looking to make a profit of the death of public figure - and giving him a stingray arch enemy? C'mon.

I agree with a comment above me - you only post here to bolster your sales, never bothering to comment on any other customizer's work. This is shameful - not to mention, bad customs (considering your previous works). These seem to be simply fodder bashes - like you had too many pieces hanging around and suddenly thought you struck brilliance.

...Shoulda thought a bit longer on these two.
