I made a comment to customizer jonatanmk a while back that he did not have any Green Lanterns in his long line of wonderfully painted custom Lanterns. He took my comment to heart and did his first Green Lantern custom recently. Then I realized I didn't have any Green Lanterns either. So I took my own advice and here is my first original custom Green Lantern. Stoneworld has yielded two Green Lanterns, one from each race: Aa of the Pumice People, and Kworri of the Obsidian-Folk. Aa had a brief life as a Green Lantern but soon left the Corps after growing dissatisfied with the Guardians. Her whereabouts are unknown. She may be dead. Kworri served as a Green Lantern until his death. The conditions resulting in Kworri's death have never been revealed, although he is seen to be entombed in the Crypt of the Green Lantern Corps at some point after the Sinestro Corps War. After the Blackest Night all of the power rings of deceased Lanterns that Mogo had kept safe returned to active scan mode. A ring once again found itself to Stoneworld. But would the ring choose a member of the Pumice People or their bitter rivals the Obsidian-Folk? The ring arrived in the middle of the streets of Stoneworld where a dispute between the two races was in progress. One member of the Obsidian-Folk stood out as he tried to stop the fighting. Andesi of the Obsidian-Folk was chosen as the newest Green Lantern of Sector 904. He quickly stopped the dispute using some primitive constructs. Andesi has since received training from Green Lantern Stel and has become quite good at forming constructs. Andesi hates the rivalry between his species and the Pumice People. He frequently visits his homeworld to maintain the peace. To Andesi being a Green Lantern is not just about dealing with trouble when it arises but stopping trouble before it happens. Green Lantern Salaak regards Andesi as an excellent recruit into the Green Lantern Corps. Base Figure: DC Universe Classics Hal Jordan Head: DC Universe Classics Hal Jordan with extensive dremel work to remove his hair. After that I laid down a coat of dark grey paint as a base. Then followed by dry brushing white and then dry brushing more grey. Then using some red I added some colorful tribal face paint. I also repainted the mask because it need touching up. I am very happy with the outcome. Construct: DC Universe John Stewart fist. Thoughts: I had originally planned to do a custom of the Pumice People. But after I realized Green Lantern Aa was female I was turned off at how manly she looked. (Look it up, she has pecs and a significant bulge where she shouldn't) And since DC typically does not give extensive background on each alien race I had no idea what their males looked like. (They could have the boobs for all I know) So the Obsidian-Folk made more sense. Green Lantern Kworri is male and made for a good reference picture. Sector Info: Brik is Green Lantern of Sector 904 so Andesi can be referred to as Green Lantern 904.2 Fun Facts: The Obsidian-Folk's type of government is tribal. This is why the Obsidian-Folk typically adorn their bodies with paint. The Obsidian-Folk pride themselves on their warriors' instinct. The most able-bodied fighters are held in high regard. The Obsidian-Folk feel a deep sense of honor with strong ties towards family. I had fun doing this guy and I learned a lot while doing him. Any comments are always appreciated. ![]() |
