Located in Space Sector 909 is the planet Phonal, a penal colony inhabited by all forms of life. It is used by many governments as a dumping ground for the scum of the universe. Inmates range from the average robber, murderer, sex offender, you name it. No guards needed seeing as how the extremely cold weather and the current inmates kill nearly 80% of all newcomers to Phonal. Escape is not possible because ships never land on the surface. New inmates are loaded into escape pods and dropped to the planet's surface. Vohl Rega is a serial killer known for killing over 18 known victims. Bodies were found but skulls were not. Local reports dubbed him "Rega the Skull Collector". Vohl Rega was eventually caught and sentenced to death. But the judge reduced his sentence to life inprisonment on planet Phonal under one condition. Vohl Rega was to reveal the location of the skulls of his victims so that they may be returned to their families. He was reluctant to do so but found the thought of life imprisonment preferable to death.

When Vohl Rega arrived on Phonal he had only one thing in mind, to start a new collection. Vohl Rega became the dominant inmate on Phonal, killing and collecting the skulls of 10 other inmates within his first week. It should come as no surprise that Vohl Rega would be chosen to join the Sinestro Corps.

Status: After taking on the ring, Vohl Rega returned to his home planet to recollect the skulls of his first 18 victims. He also visited the judge who sentenced him, killing him, his wife, and two kids. Rega keeps those 4 skulls with him at all times. Vohl Rega remains at large and continues to add skulls to his collection. He frequently returns to Phonal to show his dominance.

Base Figure: DC Universe Classics Maash/Low
Head: Glow in the dark Deadman head. I did have to do some extensive dremel work to get it to fit the Classics body. The horns and middle crest are all made from Nite-Lik claws repainted black.
Hands: DC Universe Classics Maash hands colored black.
Skulls: Taken from Skeleton Warriors figure Baron Dark. They were bunched together. I did dremel work to make them individual skulls. Repainted with a blend of acrylics. The rope I put them on was like yoyo string or something. I tied knots into it for each skull and glued them on.
Thoughts: While I think a repaint of the head would have made him more custom I was fascinated at how the pale skin looking with the Sinestro Corps uniform. Plus I liked the fact that it glowed in the dark. So I decided on additions to the head instead of a repaint.

Thanks Jonny. I think it was you who suggested adding something to make him more unique. While I would have loved to have had him standing on a pile of skulls I couldn't make that happen. This is what I came up with and I like it.
