Up now is a Classic Thor. Last year, I made a bunch of figures, and out of all of them, Classic Thor was my least favorite. There was alot wrong with him, and I've been looking for an opportunity at a re-do ever since. Well, i got my chance now that the new ROML Thor came out, though not with out some doing. Basically the entire figure had to be sculpted over. Only parts that weren't were the parts of his back that didn't get scuffed by sanding, hands, hips and crotch, lower legs and feet, and his head.
To modify his head, I sliced the nose guard off the helmet, resculpted the lines through the armor, added a bigger spike to the top, and switch out the wings with bigger ones from Beta Ray Bill. For his torso i sculpted some musculature, his disc, and the emblem on his belt. His shoulder pads were made from vinyl and blended in. His lowest set of discs are attached to straps of thin vinyl, so they can move out of the way of the legs in different poses. His arms and upper legs were sanded down and completely sculpted over. His knee pads is made of the same vinyl as his shoulder pads, and finally his lower legs are wrapped in the same thin vinyl that his lowest discs are attached to. Finished him up with the paint, and here he is. I'm much, much, much happier with him than my previous attempt. He doesn't look as good from profile, because his middle discs stand a little farther away from the body than looks right, but i can live with it. Hope you guys like it.
