I always liked the chrome mask version of the Cobra Commander. But also always felt like this figure should be unmask-able. After I cut the face plate off and started carving away at the Venom head, I started feeling like I had to have chosen the hardest way to do this project. However I am rather pleased with the results.
The face is from an unmasked Venom MLIcon. Lots of cutting and carving on the face head to get it to fit just right into the hollow rubber head on the body. I put apoxie in the rubber head and pushed the face head into it removing the excess. The helmet/mask combo is kinda like Vader's, the blue helmet is removed and then the face plate. The face plate has a black elastic strap on the back. The face plate was also extended just a bit.
The glove extensions are from a wrestler. They are wrapped as minimally as possible with black duck tape and painted with clear nail polish for shine. The shin guards are from Snake Eyes... I think. The boots might be from Van Helsing, but maybe not, I can't remember.
Well once you have an unmask-able Cobra Commander, you might as well have the option of "hooded". The main front part of the mask is from a Grifter. But the most of the hood is apoxie.
The armor is from a Cobra Sand Scorpion. Painted silver and coated with clear acrylic.
The trench coat is from a Toy Biz movie edition Doc Ock. The holes in the back of the coat are apoxied smooth. Wolverine claws from a Maestro are on the shoulders of the coat as some form of militant brass. The coat has been coated with clear acrylic to help prevent paint rub.
The staff top was removed and replaced with a pvc cobra. The double headed snake on the bottom of the staff is from McFarlane. The uzi was Trinity's.
I hope you guys like him.
