DC Universe... Red Skull (DC Universe) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:38283
Name:DC Universe... Red Skull
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:DC Universe
Creator:pulpyfiction
Date Added:April 11, 2012
Base Figure:New Krypton Superman/DCU Bizarro
Height:6.00 inches
Articulation:18 points
This was inspired by Shinobitron's New Krypton Superman to Red Skull conversion. Only I am a bit of an articulation nut, so I used a lower half of a Bizarro I had lying around to get the articulation I wanted. I sculpted the upper legs to get some fabric wrinkles and that 40's flared pants look. I also added boot cuffs.

For the head I wanted to have more of the movie look that Hugo Weaving sported, so I tried something new. I ended up re-working and re-sculpting a movie abomination figure's head. I had started to make the head into a movie style swamp thing, but I kept thinking how much he looked like the Red Skull. I extended the back of the head, removed the nose, made the nasal cavities, added to the cheek bones, and added to the scarring.

Then it was paints, I tried a two tone black motif for the suit using a flat black and a glossy. Then for the head its a red brown for the dark base coat, a crimson red for the mid tones and a cherry red for highlights. The head was topped with a glossy finish to give it that wet fleshy look.

The cigarette holder was a piece off of an old fodder weapon's barrel, and another piece was repainted into the cigarette and attached into a hole I dremiled for it. It attaches by a small pin that fits in between the Skull's teeth, on both sides of his mouth, and the hole are pretty unnoticeable.

The extra jacket is from an old ML series 6 Thomas Jane movie Punisher.

Thanks for the view!

You're very welcome as always! I have 4 customs ready to post whenever I get a chance to upload them...LOKEN FROST, customer original character. A repainted Abomination from the pre-Marvel Legends era(5 points of artic). My custom original that CFC named SCORPRESS for me(cross betweeen a female cyborg and emperor scorpion- think scorpion centaur lady with knockers) and a custom painted Marvel Select Colossus made into the outback shirtless style.

This is the most sinister looking Red Skull I have ever seen. I love the choice of parts for the the body. He is imposing in size yet not too big. And The paints are really top notch, I can distinguish between the different blacks you used. But the head is the most AMAZING part of this custom. Abomination???? Really????!!! Not only is it unique but it looks WICKED!!! Really outstanding job!!

Yeah, I'm a fan of your Hulk customs. By the way, I also made Red Skull but not as detailed as yours. I think the face you made is the best grotesque looking version ever made for this character.
