Hello Realmers, today I'm uploading a figure that, much like the previous submission of Beast, was completed a couple of weeks ago and we just got around to taking pics lol. Now without further stalling for time, here's a figure I made, my own modernized take on the classic X-Men character Gambit. I wanted to try to give him a street vigilante kind of look, but also stay true to his classic costume (I did this using the hoodie he wears under the hacket, the main shirt part is purple and the hood part is blue, like Gambit's purple shirt/blue collar thing). I got the inspiration when I saw the base figure, Toad from the X-Men movie in 2000. When I looked at it without that ugly head lol, I instantly thought of this and had to make it. The body, from neck down is that Toad figure (it did some weird thing where if you bent down the knees he'd snap up/forward, didn't ever really work right anyway), and the head is from some Tarzan-like fig I had floating in the fodder bin. After a head swap, it was mainly a paint job away from being done. I also made the bo staff from the wooden handle of some kinda toy my 4-year old niece broke lol, and the energy beam was 4 little pieces cut from an old playing card, with suits drawn on, glued to a short piece of broken CD case, covered in hot glue and painted pinkish-purple. It looks... half decent, but for the first energy-type thing I've tried to make I think it's pretty good. Overall it's one of the one's I've enjoyed making the most, so I hope everyone else enjoys it too. Thanks for looking. Please wait... |
