Skafa is from Space Sector 674, the same sector as Sinestro Corps Member Arkillo. Green Lantern Kilowog is also from Space Sector 674. Given that all three individuals appear to look similar it is now widely thought that species of this sector share a common ancestry. Although this has never been proven. His people are known for their monstrous size and brutality. Like Arkillo and Kilowog he possesses superhuman strength.

One of the requirements for recruitment in the Sinestro Corps is to be able to instill great fear. It was proven Skafa could do just that. A Sinestro Corp's member arrived on Skafa's planet and started terrorizing the locals. Skafa received that member's Yellow Power Ring after he ripped his limbs off.

Skafa came to be respected amongst his fellow Sinestro Corpsmen. His most worthy achievement was gaining the respect of Arkillo himself. When Arkillo is not on Qward Skafa takes over the drill sergeant duties in his absence. Arkillo gives him strict orders to kill anyone who does not work fast enough. Skafa killed five Qwardian Weaponers the first time Arkillo was off world.

Skafa is an extremely potent combatant, though he rarely uses his power ring. He prefers physical attacks and only resorts to his Qwardian power ring for defensive purposes.

In the aftermath of Blackest Night Skafa's status is unknown, although it is believed he is still in possession of his Qwardian power ring and still a danger.


Ok before I give the recipe I want to give a special thanks to Figure Realm member somethinggeeky. His Sinestro Corps Member Grumbles was the idea behind my custom. Originally I had planned on making his twin brother and calling him Gripes. Grumbles and Gripes kinda of sounded like a cool pair. You can search the word Grumbles if you have not seen his custom. Show him some love. But fellow customizers know ideas pop up at the strangest of times. While I kept the same look as Grumbles I just thought he looked so darn cool with the gray flesh. So now onto the recipe.


Base Figure: Ok well obviously it is BAF Arkillo.
Head: The head is BAF Arkillo also. I cut his lower jaw off and then removed his lower long fangs. Then I re-glued the jaw to give a closed mouth look. Using sculpey I redid the jaw, chin, and lower lip area. Sculpey was also used to blend the upper and lower parts of the face to give it a natural look. I cut off Skallox ears to give me a base comparison. Then I covered those Skallox ears in sculpey creating larger ears for this custom. You can't tell because of the paint but the inner ear is actually Skallox ears. I didn't completely cover them in sculpey because they gave a good inner ear look. Obviously his lower fangs were used to make the horns protruding from his jaw. I chose no hair cause well I hate sculpting hair and he looked awesome without it.
Painting: I used black sculpey for all of the head work and it almost matched Arkillo's color. But I decided on a once over with a slightly darker gray. I don't have a side beside comparison since I used my BAF Arkillo to make him. So I colored his neck and hands with the dark gray mix to match the head paint.
Thoughts: I am actually extremely pleased with this custom. I think he looks absolutely great.
