Small imps found in Squaresoft's 1997 Final Fantasy VII Sony Playstation video game (said title was also later ported to the PC.) Manholes inhabit Sector 8's subterranean levels, underneath the sprawling metropolis of Midgar. These crimson devils enjoy frightening and confusing trespassers by quickly popping in-and-out of nearby sewer access points (Whack-A-Mole anyone?) When they tire of that game, the crimson devils go on the offensive by either flinging manhole lids, in a frisbee-like fashion, or casting Ice 2 and Fire 2 magic spells. It's been speculated that these troublemakers are responsible for a large percentage of the costly mechanical failures in Shinra's sewage treatment facilities, yet company management tolerates their continued existence because their presence acts as an additional deterrent to intruders in an otherwise relatively low security area. Manholes are ranked at Level 35. They have 2,500 Hit Points (HP) and 110 Magic Points (MP). Each Manhole is worth 900 Experience Points (EXP), $3,000 in Gil, and 80 Ability Points (AP) when defeated, and they will sometimes leave behind a X-Potion. Manholes are immune to all status effects except for Berserk, Fury, and Sadness. They have no elemental strengths/weaknesses. Materials: Cardboard, white paper, colored paper, white glue, hot glue, and paint. Dimensions: 8.4 cm/3.3 in. x 6.3 cm/2.5 in. (widest point x highest point) Time: One day: April 9, 2003. ![]() |
