Repaint of the Fin Fang Foom Build-A-Figure. I did sculpt some purple shorts on him. I don't know what it is about Green and Purple that is appealing to me...lol! I primed this figure and then put a coat of metallic green over it. That was followed up by a lot of hand detailing and drybrushing of lime greens and some ivory colors for the armor plates. As I was painting him, I got the inspiration for a molten slag base. I used a piece of wood and newspaper taped down and covered with some Durham's Rock Hard Water Putty. After that stuff dried I primed it with some Valspar grey primer followed by a coat of Rust-oleum Metallic bright coat chrome. I then added transparent yellow, then orange and red, followed by some transparent black and a high gloss coat sealer. I wanted it to look like molten lava slag. I will say, this thing looks like a high dollar statue in person moreso than what the photos show. I'm not a customizer but I do play one on FigureRealm!
