Red Hood - Movie Style (Batman - Movie Style) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:41480
Name:Red Hood - Movie Style
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Batman - Movie Style
Creator:Xysma Warhorse
Date Added:August 4, 2012
Base Figure:Batman
Height:6.00 inches
I was commissioned to make a Red Hood in the Nolanverse movie style and this is what I came up with. I liked the idea of the motorcycle helmet for a "real world" Red Hood, and then I thought of the Titanium man head I had lying around and realized it wouldn't be too difficult to convert it, and the seed was planted. I used the Batman/Bruce Wayne figure with the ski mask as the base, the helmet is a modified Titanium Man from the IM movie line, jacket and arms from DCUC Superboy, hands from the base figure, and belt from fodder.

I was the guy that commissioned this piece, and Chester, if you really knew anything about the Nolanverse, you would realize that Nolan NEVER goes with any of the character's original origins. This was a project that myself and Xyzma talked about for a little while on facebook before he did it. Basically Jason's backstory in the Nolanverse would be something like: He was also a member of the League Of Shadows, but like Bane was considered too dangerous and reckless for Ra's Al Ghul. Feeling like a failure, Todd hates Bruce Wayne because he embodies everything that he is not. Todd follows Wayne back to Gotham City, hiding in the shadows during the events of Batman Begins. When the city goes crazy, Todd goes to nearby Bludhaven and meets up with the man who will become the force of nature we know as The Joker. At this time he is going by The Red Hood. Todd and (Let's just call him J.) work together a few times, before J turns his back on Todd and scars him terribly. Dropping the Red Hood persona, The Joker is born. In his wake, Jason becomes The new Red Hood. He trains more vigorously than he ever has(his training period will be during the events of The Dark Knight). When Joker is caught at the end of TDK, as the police are cuffing the clown and taking him away, suddenly the back of Joker's head is blown out by a sniper's bullet. This was Jason's revenge. This also explains the absence of Joker in TDKR. Red Hood would have been a background character in TDKR, and would be someone who was helping Bane's rise to power in Gotham...though when *Miranda Tate* discovers that this person is indeed Jason Todd, she has him locked up in one of the many prison's The League's regime controls for radicals. By the time Red Hood is released, Batman is gone from Gotham...but there appears to be a new hero on the rise..a man calling himself Robin...Red Hood has always hated Robins. Well what do you guys think? Pretty good for a random Nolanverse backstory I think! I'm gonna send that to Xyzma right now on Facebook and see what he thinks. Oh and Chester dude, its no offense or anything, and far be it from me to put down anyone's work...but man, you are extremely critical of people's customs when yours could use quite a bit of improvement themselves. Again that's simply constructive criticism, but a lot of your comments come off sounding superior or something...

I had been thinking that for awhile but was worried it would end up looking choppy after I cut off that middle piece, plus I never had a reason to try it. Oonce I got motivated to do it, I was surprised how easy it was. I say easy, but it took me an hour of sanding to get it right!

When has a Batman movie ever gone with a comic idea 100%? They just adjust the character to suit the movie. For example TDKR uses Bane to suit their needs. He is not South American,in the movie he is from some Middle eastern country but for some reason he sounds like Sean Connery an irishman if I am not mistaken.I could over look this but what happened to the Venom that is so essential to the character? The venom is the only reason he can beat Batman because no ordinary man can best the Bat. If you followed that line of logic than any mercenary that is dedicated enough can beat and break Batman. Sorry just had to vent on one of the MANY flaws I saw in the TDKR. I really like this custom by the way. Ingenious use of the Titanium man head.
