Hellfire Club: Black Queen Jean Grey (Marvel Select) Custom Action Figure
Custom #:4574
Name:Hellfire Club: Black Queen Jean Grey
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Marvel Select
Creator:N TT
Date Added:October 26, 2007
Base Figure:Crime Syndicate SuperWoman
Height:6.50 inches
Wanted to make this figure for the longest time, but could never find a suitable base. Considered many female figures for the part but wasn't until seeing the CS SuperWoman figure that finally getting the Black Queen done seemed possible!
The hair was sculpted with apoxie, and used a toothpick to do the detailing. It was painted black, then copper, then dry-brushed a reddish brown (more red than brown) on top. Her corset was from a Cynder figure, and the cape borrowed from a JLA Superman. Flesh tones were mixed with red/yellow/white/brown acrylic until the desired color and painted with a generous amount of water, creating a smooth, even application. The brush should not be so saturated with water that the paint becomes uncontrollable, and should be applied in tiny circles as to give it a polished finish. By dabbling a little bit of water over the wet surface color also helps blend & conceal the brush strokes. The rose on her collar was made by creating an "s" shape with apoxie, then twisting it into a tiny circle to resemble a rose - detailing was done with a pin. Her choker was made from vinyl and toothpick tips were glued on, painted silver to resemble spikes. Found the whip in a fodder box to complete the look.
Cheers to everybody for their continued interest and over generous praise. Will definitely continue to produce original works purely for entertainment and much amusement. Hope you'll visit again soon!

This custom is better than Hasbro's TRU exclusive imo.

I kinda got this wasn't going to be Comicbook xmen when no one wore suits that hurt my eyes
you got a very good point about magneto - hes a lot more ruthless in the movies - howver I do site grant morrisons run on new xmen from where most of the films get this villainous portrayal of magneto
but you missed the point that mckellen IS a good actor and went on abpout comic magneto when I'm talking abpout film
Anyway to wrap up I recommend seeing Famke be evil in Faculty and to get back on topic
at least we both agree this custom of black queen rocks

That wasn't Magneto... that was a pathetic old man who personified the idea of selfishness and evil. Comic book Magneto would never cast aside a mutant follower just because she lost her powers, especially right after she saved him from the same fate.

Ahhh I never saw Faculty, but HOHH, yeah I can see that.
It was the Wolverine Show... that's what I had the most problem with.
Sorry compared to how the rest acted with few exceptions - Wolverine deserved the most screen time
only thing I got against Hugh Jackmans portrayal is his height - other than that he deserves the screen time as halle berry can't cat unless she taking her clothes off to get an oscar
And Big shout outs to Stewart and Mckellen and a honor nod to Grammar
They held the movei together along with Jackman - the rest of the cast was just horrid and I wasn't impressed about mystique getting sidelined
theres a reason why magneto and wolverine are getting their own movies

In her Nip/Tuck role, I think. As Dark Pheonix her face was usually kinda apathetic.
I was actually thinking of Famke in Faculty and House On Haunted Hill personally
Youre right about her portrayal in bloody X3 - I don't like cyke - but he shouldve survived and got offed right at the end
so much was wrong about that film - The horror the horror
Still kelsey as beast was great - good cast

That is without a doubt the most breath taking Black Queen I've ever seen. Awesome work even if I'm not usually a fan of the Select line.
