Star Sapphire Greyette (Green Lantern) Custom Miniature / Figurine
Custom #:45842
Name:Star Sapphire Greyette
Custom Type:Miniature / Figurine
Toy Series:Green Lantern
Creator:NeCrollector
Date Added:January 6, 2013
Base Figure:Gumball machine toy
Height:1.00 inches
An easy repaint that I did over a year ago of a 50 cents gumball machine glow-in-the-dark alien. I was initially not going to submit her in the Realm, but as I approach my 50th submission on this awesome site, I figured "why not?".

She represents one of the main reasons this hobby is so much fun...she was a blast to repaint. When she first teleported out of that gumball machine, only her eyes and mouth were painted black. It was a trip to take a G.I.T.D., 1 inch toy and turn it into an unlikely Star Sapphire.
The Star Sapphire and Green Lantern logos are water-slide decals. I thought it would be zany to have her wearing a Green Lantern backpack.
:)
Completed December 2011.

Thanks for looking, Realmers!
:)

Brother, you never cease to amaze me. When you look at a toy you see things most of can not. Your imagination and talent are second to none on this or any other custom toy community. You seem to be able to spot potential in the simplest and most rudimentary of places and are able to bring that potential to fruition. As silly and whimsical this piece is, it speaks volumes of your raw talent and vision. Ok I'm done spit shinin' your @$$ for now. At least until your next masterpiece crops up here in the realm.

You're too awesome, brother I truly appreciate your comments. Ever since I've been turned on to this amazing hobby, I seem to see the world with a different set of eyes...always looking for items, toys, jewelry, anything that can be incorporated into a cool-looking custom. I should have a couple of new customs ready for next week. I hope you'll like them, SP.

Can't wait to se 'em bro. I'm sure I'll love 'em. Right now Pyramidhead22 is working on a stack of customs for me. I sent him both series of the Mass Effect figure line and he's customizing some to my specs and surprising me on some of the others. I also came up with a sweet design for a base to accommodate all 8 figures. Not sure if your familiar with the games or not but at the end of Mass Effect 2 the crew gathers in the briefing room right before the final level @ the Collector Hive to set battle plans and pick team leaders. My concept was a base reenacting that scene. So he's building a scale replica of the Normandy's briefing room including E.D.I. the ship's AI protruding from the comm table console. I'm stoked! Keep an eye on his postings as he adds them and check out the awesome Mass Effect and Skyrim customs he's already made for himself if you haven't seen 'em already.

Hi scorpio13. Thanks for your comment I use a Canon Powershot Elph digital camera and use either the 'indoor' mode w no flash or the 'auto' mode w no flash, depending on which mode produces the best colors. For the glow-in-dark pic, I placed a black light atop the figure, but took the pic with some daylight coming in. The other pics I take under the bright, fluorescent light of my kitchen. I really want/need to invest in a light box to take better pics.

I'm commenting again for two reasons. To ask why she has a GL symbol on her back? And to tell you to revisit my Sinestro Corps Member Saikol custom in the future. I just submitted a group pic as picture 3 on that one.

Hi saber I thought it would be fun & whimsical to customize her backpack with a Green Lantern theme...as if she decided to wear/sport one even though she's a Star Sapphire.
That Sinestro Corps pic in your Saikol custom is EPIC!
