Digging through my fodder bin, I came across a DCU Negative Man head and thought, "I haven't seen anyone use this for a Hush custom and so I decided I will be the first. I think. Hush has a DC Universe Samurai torso down to his feet. (which is the correct buck). His arms and head are from DC Universe Negative Man. And his hands and trench coat are from Marvel Legends Fantomex. I used wires for the piping on his suit as well as his boots. Basically he has sculpt from his head to his feet. The only part without sculpt is his hands. The pouches are from various ML Longshot, ML Shield Agent, and etc figures. His pistols are from some $5 army figures, which were chosen because he can actually hold them straight with Fantomex's terrible hands. The coat strap and pouch strap are some random fodder. His skirt is made from a SOTA Buffy the Vampire Slayer jacket. His crotch flap was cut out of a random cape, with a telephone cable cut in half for the sections so its still movable.
And then painted it from head to toe. For the paint job I did dry brushing and a wash for the head and coat and pouches. Also painted his guns.
DUDE!! This figure has been on my workbench for almost a year! Seriously, like almost the exact same recipe, great minds think alike. I didn't like the hands I was using, got sidetracked and forgot about him. Anyway, you did a stellar job on this one, congrats on the win.
This figure is making a close race with the Venom and the Sub Zero custom of this contest in my opinion. The many details made me vote with 5 on this one here. Good look for a wining place!
Nice use of the head for Hush! I think you're the only one who has used that. So much great details added and painting that I wouldn't have known it's a DC base body under there, it's like a Marvel Legend. Excellent work!
Amazing job on this custom. You totally transformed the body!
I hate those Phantomex hands, though. The way they make him hold his guns is absolutely moronic. You don't put your thumbs up over the back of the slide, unless you want your thumb ripped off. One of my friends was shooting with his father and his friends, and one guy accidentally left his thumb up the back of the slide...it was not pretty, I saw pictures.
Your darn tootin' right about the Fantomex hands. I witnessed the gory aftermath of a similar FUBAR during weapons training in the military. One of my denser shipmates was trying out the instructor's Desert Eagle and got careless, nearly severing his thumb in the process. Still, a great figure nonetheless.
