Sort of a "two-for-one deal" here!Started with SN3-BO-E aka Sonny Boy(I have to give props to a couple of customs seen on The Realm that inspired me,one had a Western theme,the other,a biker theme,can't recall who the customizers were,but the figures were awesome!)and the idea for Mother just materialized as I worked.I wanted to do something a little different,and a criminal mastermind/bounty hunter who happened to be an older woman with an over bearing mommy complex and a battle android for muscle that she treats like her son,how could I not do it?!?!
Cal Mot was a small time criminal and drug dealer in the outer rim who was killed by Sakiyan Jedi Knight Natsirt Sal.Blinded by grief and anger,and seeking revenge against the Jedi who killed her son,Cal Mot's mother,Analese Mot,became a bounty hunter and crime boss known only as Mother.She acquired a Series 3 special operations battle droid she reprogrammed to be her body guard/enforcer early in her criminal career and treated it much as she would her own child,even calling it Sonny Boy.Both she and Sonny Boy were still active in the outer rim into the Rebellion Era.
I've learned that customizing is full of "happy accidents" and sometimes it's best to follow your instincts and see where they lead you!Most,if not all,of my customs evolve as I'm creating them,and often have differences from the source material,so my work reflects my interpretation of the characters.So,please remember,the figure may not look 100% like the comic or movie version,but I always do my best to capture the essence of the character.
Quite often I see other customizers figures and I'm in awe of their work and have to make one of my own!In those cases,I hope the original customizer realizes that imitation is the ultimate form of flattery,and I really am paying them a very sincere compliment.In cases where I know who the original customizer is,I will always give credit where it is due.
