Beachcomber was one of my favorite TFs when I was growing up ... not sure why, maybe the colors, maybe the cool dune buggy ... and despite his weird personality on the cartoon, I wanted to bring him into the Alternators. Having worked with the Jeep mold for Bonecrusher (which was a major PITA), I avoided redoing BC as that vehicle and was determined to pick one less obvious.

The head is from Alternators Grimlock, and I ground off the ears and painted the head similar to his G1 colors, but leaving the visor blue (all Autobots should have blue eyes, right?). The body was primarily air brushed with a custom mix of blue pearl and silver, while the hood was painted silver ... going for sort of a California beach cruiser look. Interior was painted silver, and the seats were given blue inserts. For the most part SS's existing blue and black details remained.
