I've been wanting to do a Punisher in Marvel Universe-ish scale for a long time, but never got around to it. I love the GI Joe base bodies for characters like this, they have the militant visual vibe going on, and some really good articulation, plus in my opinion, spandex should be left to a select few heroes, and Frank Castle does not belong with that crowd. Anyway, I used the GI Joe Retaliation: Battle Kata Roadblock for the base body. It's big, intimidating and poses well. For the head, well I went with the Ray Stevenson mug that came on the GI Joe Retaliation: Firefly. The figure was lackluster, but the head had a good likeness, and looked like a properly pissed off Punisher (plus for its many faults, Punisher: Warzone had an excellent Castle in Stevenson...he's working for Marvel anyways so they may as well keep him if they ever decided to brave another Punisher movie). Some black and white paint later, and we have a Punisher, just like that. I also added two vests just to get a visual difference (and if I ever had the time, space and resources to add to a Punisher Arsenal like many on the realm have made), with one vest being the vest that came with Roadblock, and the other I bought a long time ago. Throw in an armful of various weapons and you're good to go. Please wait... |
