"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" is an anime adaptation based on four of the original Oz books by L. Frank Baum.
The Scarecrow used to stand in the middle of a large corn field in the Munchkin Country and was supposed to frighten the crows (but failed at this task), until he met in Dorothy on her way to the Emerald City. The "brainless" Scarecrow joins Dorothy on her journey in the hope that The Wizard will give him a brain. Even though he does not believe it yet, the Scarecrow already has a sharp brain full of brilliant ideas, and he proves this throughout the whole journey.
I love the series and Scarecrow was always my favorite character, so I deceided to give it a go. The pose is inspired by the opening credits, where Scarecrow is walking on the Yellow Brick Road. Sculpted from scratch and painted with several different brands of model paint.
Very impressive figure and base (love the floating yellow brick road!); you really captured the flavor of the character/show. This would have been an excellent entry for the recent Cartoons contest as well.
