Part of the intergalactic group The Imperial Guard. Servers and protectors of the Shi'ar empire. Warstar was always my favorite team member. I enjoyed the old Toybiz figure and always wanted a ML scale version of him. I used Hulkbuster body and arms. I resculpted the chest and filled in the holes on the forearms that were left after I removed the forearms plates. I used Iron Monger baf's legs, shoulder pads, and head. I modified the head to resemble that of B'nee. I used a random fodder part for the compartment on the back where C'cil sits. For C'cil I used a MU Iron Man that came with the red and blue Goliath pack. I resculpted the head and chest. I used Model Masters and mixed gloss green with silver for the color. The last pic is a comparison in size and parts I used for the custom.
Excellent rendition of the character with a good mix of parts from various figures. I think some black paint apps, or a wash, to highlight some of the details in the armor, adding a bit of contrast, would have been nice, but the uniform metallic green looks great as-is too.
I only give one 5 star and this was it. I've loved this character ever since 1980 when I first saw him. The name that Cockrum came up for him is a take on Cecil and Beanie, who were on an old kids show. Love it!
Warstar is a tough on to do well, and though I've seen some really good ones, this is my favorite. Great job all around. Parts, paints, scults, overall look, all top notch.
