This was my first custom, so I figured I should put my best foot forward. I've wanted to do a Deadpool figure for a long time, and I've also always wondered what the Merc with a Mouth would look like if someone dropped him into a real-world setting, as a combat-trained mercenary. So I went with a grittier, more realistic approach, but I’m very pleased with how it turned out.

I started with the Cobra trooper body, painted the head red and dyed the outfit red (from original navy blue). I used acrylic paint, bleach and tulip red fabric dye (whole outfit process took about 20 hours). I also took some accessories from said figure (utility belt, knee pads, boots, Ak, Glock, bayonet). Then I gathered the desired parts from the Viper figure (hands and wrist guards, scarf, harnesses, backpack, scar rifle, hunting knife, grenades, patches, spare hands). I hand made the Deadpool insignia out of Velcro patches (3 layers, cut, shaped and glued on), and then glued it to the armor. The armor itself was a random piece from the bin, as was the bazooka, katana, radio, goggles, and bomb. I glued the goggles to the painted head, and then assembled the rest. Made the 'middle finger' hand from a pre-formed fist and sculpting clay. That’s it!
