Recipe: I started with a 52 Batman and re-sculpted the neck, shoulders and traps area after removing his cape. A Jim Lee style Batman head was modded to make him look like Bruce in the suit. The rest is minor sculpting and mostly painting. Idea: A few months back I made a Batman Beyond Mark I suit that was the first step that Bruce took in changing over to the Beyond suit. Along the way he had to test other armors to work out glitches and problems. This is the Batman Beyond Mark II suit worn by Bruce Wayne in testing phases. You can see that the body is clearly Bruce and not slim like Terry. The head features are more angry and determined than a kid who stumbled onto the suit later. Bruce still has not worked out the invisibility or wings in the Mark II suit but has reluctantly ditched the cape. The suit's padded armor is still visible in the sculpt and visible boot and gauntlet lines can be seen because it is not the finished product that ultimately gives him the heart attack and ends his career as Batman. The suit does amplify his strength enough that he could punch Superman without breaking his hand. Details: Batman has custom sculpting and painting and is made from several action figures and parts. He retains all range of motion and can be posed in several different ways. Look at the photos for examples. Paints: He sports a hand painted paint job. The figure was painted using only the best Citadel primer, and was hand painted using Citadel, Model Masters, Formula P3 and other high quality paints. There is a ton of detail to the sculpt so repainting, dry brushing, washes, and advanced paint techniques were done to make the line work pop. Some areas are glossy, some flat and some are metallic. The colors are different shades of blacks, grays, reds and chromed silver. He was given a heavy black wash and small amounts of metallic dry brushing to make the armor look more lived in and not pristine. We always believed in a lived in universe and not one where things look like they came off the assembly line. This armor looks like it’s been through some battles or that he is still working out the kinks to perfect it for the Mark III suit. He was then sealed so there would not be any paint rub issues.
