I was amazed that this ever came out right :). This is my first custom I ever decided to do and I wanted to go for a twist of what if Tony Stark became a Green Lantern? I know the Iron Lantern design already exists but I wanted to do something more original, as if tony used the rings power to will himself circuit boards and all the components to make the Iron Man suit. I took my Bachelor of Fine Arts girlfriend's advice and sprayed a base of primer on the figure after washing it....and good gravy it did not go well. I spent a few weeks just cleaning and sanding it to make it usable again. That's when I found figure realm and got the right advice for my first attempt. I used the Marvel series Iron Man and added A molded Circle to the chest and a fodder piece attached to it to make the appearance of him having merged with his Lantern. The arm cannons and the glowing ring are actually from the insides of a mechanical pencil. The energy lines flowing from the chest to the cannons are just metal wire I had laying around. I used Citadel brand paints and started with the light green color and continually faded the color darker as I made layers to give it a glowing effect for the chest, eyes, and wire, While trying to give the darker green a very shaded comic book feel to the colors. The base is Just Fodder from a huge lot of anime Figures I got at a convention. Conveniently the pegs fit Iron Mans feet perfectly. ![]() |
