Let me start by saying this is my first custom. It was a test project to see if I would enjoy making dioramas and possibly getting into doing custom figures.

The base is made out of polystyrene that came in a shipping box for a TV. I shaped it and painted it in a paint/plaster/water/glue mixture. After it dried I painted it with acrylic paints.

The tree I sculpted out of 20 gauge wire and paper clay. I have never sculpted anything and this was a product my mom let me take from her craft room. It was much easier than I expected. The leaves are W.S. light green bush. The green moss is W.S. fine turf weeds. The Spanish moss I just took out of the bottom of a silk plant planter. The dirt is just a mix of sand and rock dust.

I probably could have done this project in less time but I took a lot of time on the tree and didn't really need to as the figures cover the bottom of it. I had a lot of fun on this project and already have ideas for the next one. Any critique or comments are most welcome.
