They are cup lids that I covered with a plaster, sand, and glue mix, then added the larger details like rocks and the box were added. After that I sprayed them with quote a few layers of lacquer to prevent any particles of sand from falling off then I painted them and sealed them with matte krylon to prevent chipping.
