Looking for a new hobby, I stumbled upon "Action Figure Customization", which lead me to this site, which hooked me. I immediately starting digging through my old, old, OLD action figures and started planning. I love the hulking Venom monstrosity that Tony Moore created, so he became my first custom.
He's rough, but I had such a good time making him, and the community on this site is so awesome that I decided to share, warts and all. I had no idea what I was doing, aside from the excellent tutorials on this website. Cursed with impatience, instead of waiting till I had the recommended materials, I was almost immediately boiling plastic bodies, buying $.99 paint and gluing anything that looked like a tendril to my Venom (FYI twisty-ties are awesome).
That's pretty much it: the whole process was trial and error, redoing what I messed up, redoing what I thought looked good a day ago, and loving every minute.
I think he's a good first attempt, obviously not great, but, as I said, I'm proud of him, and I give all the credit to this site, to the tutorials, and the people who inspire and encourage.
