Scarlet Witch (X-Men) Custom Action Figure
This Scarlet Witch figure is part of a 'Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' set. I wanted to make the original founding members based on the First Appearance of 'The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants' in Uncanny X-Men #4, but with some liberties taken with their "looks". Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch and her brother Pietro (a.k.a. Quicksilver) swore Lifelong allegiance to Magneto after he saved Wanda from a Mob of angry villagers determined to burn her at the stake. She and Pietro were the first initiated into The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants by Magneto. Her mask, bustier area and parts of her cape were resculpted. I am currently making an updated take on this, my first version of The Scarlet Witch for a customer, so keep your eyes peeled for that! Hope you guys like her! Please wait... |

This figure by Davey Blaze is another revelation. She has never looked so sexy and demure with that hint of distant sadness in her eyes. Again I have to say how rare it is to be commenting on a custom figure's facial expression. She almost has a kind of hurt look in her face. This really is outstanding work!! Davey has outdone himself with this set. Each figure adds dimension to the others. And just look at Wanda in the group. She is a brilliant study in hesitation & awkwardness,... a shining star, but out of place in this group. I think she participates only under duress. I regretted not buying this version of her. Because I think Davey captured her at that time in her life correctly the first time. Instead, I challenged him to make another Scarlet Witch who was more wicked, self-confident and full of power. It is a rare thing to create pathos in a sculpted figure. But I think Davey Blaze has touched it here. If there was ever pathos written on a custom figure's demeanor, I think this is the one. Outstanding job here, Davey Blaze!!!
