Custom #:53841
Name:Ghost Rider: 1960's Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze
Custom Type:Action Figure
Toy Series:Ghost Rider
Creator:Davey Blaze Customs
Date Added:September 20, 2013
Base Figure:Street Fighter Vega
Height:7.00 inches
Here is my custom of Ghost Rider Johnny Blaze, with his own personal stretch of highway, complete with the innocent blood that summoned him. This was a custom that I've been wanting to make for myself for some time. There are alot more pictures of him on my website. The Ghost Rider is a character that is close to my heart and I Love Johnny Blaze, the Original Ghost Rider. This was made using a 'Street Fighter-Vega' as a base figure. I took some liberties with his gloves and boots to make them look more like real-life Biker gear. His Blues look slightly darker in real Life than in the pics.
The flames on his head, all of the costume detail, gloves and Boots are sculpted, as well as his stretch of highway, which was also given a roadlike texture. The rings on his boots are real metal. The flames on his wrists and hands are removable and were painted with Tamiya Clears and acrylics to create some depth. I lengthened his torso to create the proportions I visualised for the figure and sealed him with Matte and Gloss acrylic sealers to give his jumpsuit a bit of a leathery shine. I hope you guys like this one as much as I do.

Thanks so much, I appreciate that a lot! I Love the Johnny Blaze Ghost Rider. Obviously (given the name) I am a HUUUGE Blaze fan and feel very akin with the Rider in ways. This custom was close to my heart. Thanks again

Thank you, Jade Jaw! I'm really glad you dig it! I Love the Danny Ketch Ghost Rider, but for me, there's just somethin about Johnny Blaze. It always saddens me when the newer generation of comic fans seem to be unaware of the classic Rider in the blue jumpsuit!

Looks awesome! You put a lot of work into every detail. Where's the skull from?

Thanks so much, Banner! Actually I'm not sure where the Skull is from. I picked it up at a local comic book store from their loose-parts bin. I made this for myself so I may risk damaging the neck to find out, because I noticed an inscription under the Skull suggesting that the Skull itself was custom cast or sculpted by someone. I wrote down the name before I sculpted the flames onto it, but I have lost the note the name was on and now that area is sculpted over, but it is definitely the best Skull sculpt that I have ever found. I recently ordered a skull from Thailand that really pales in comparison and would need a major resculpt to look nearly as good as this one

This is an awesome rendition of Ghost Rider from the 70's! Probably the best fire on his skull I've ever seen! (And the skull is from the Zombie Priest action figure from Mezco's The Goon
