She started as a sculpting class assignment. Originally she was a statue with a static pose. At the end of class she still wasn't complete, but I still got an A. When I was half way done, I saw First 4 Figures prototype shots and thought "Dang... someone beat me to it." So I decided to 1up them by making mine into an action figure. So I told the instructor that I was going to convert her into an action figure, he called me crazy and told me good luck. That's when I started to do research on mold making and casting. So several months and $$$ later, here she is.

Though most amazing, the joints are extremely loose and the paint is beginning to chip!
Ill have to fix it somehow.

Be proud of this custom. You made the best Samus Aran in the whole world. And you are the greatest genius behind her. 100% truly original to the best bounty hunter from Metroid series.

this is THE definitive Samus action figure. I know a lot of people say this, but it would be awesome if you sold the design to some toy company so they could mass produce it, I'd definitely buy one.

good lord thats impressive. You should deffinatly take Jins advice and send in some portfolio shots of this amazing build. And this has got to be the best scratch build I have ever seen. I have been dying to sculpt in Castilene but man its expensive

You win! Anything that's hand-sculpted AND hand cast to make an action figure gets top marks by me. I know how expensive it is to make your own molds and cast pieces, whew. This is prossibly the most amazing scratch-built custom I've ever seen. Set up a portfolio of her, send pics to Nintendo, some toy companies, land yourself a job.
Bravo!

Wow. Consider me seriously blown away. If it wasn't for the *ahem* hundreds of dollars, I'd ask you for notes. And then pretend I had the talent to make my own.

That is probably somewhere around the best custom I have ever seen. Especially since you scratch built her and she's like 100% accurate.

Way to step up to the next level! Absolutely stellar job, I'm pretty sure you can turn a nice coin if you still have your molds available (Help you recoup some of the production costs?) I'd like to see her with her Phazon armor & maybe a Dark Samus? F'n A! That looks retail ready!!!

You know, I saw that it said scratch built but didn't believe it until I read the entire description. That's REALLY impressive, but you must show us WIP pictures now!

Ho-ly crud! That is the most incredible peice I've ever seen! Seriously, consider a career at The Four Horsemen or any major figure manufacturer. You would undoubtedly have dozens of offers. Not only would you be doing something you love, you'd get paid for it!

This is by far the most impressive piece I have ever seen. I still can't believe you made it from scratch. I really hope you take your talent seriously and put in some apps at some companies. By the way, would you consider molding and casting work?

My Sigma Six Samus bows down to yours. Seeing the early unpainted version online somewhere actually inspired me to do the one I did. Awesome job !
