Ever since my first Sigma style Vader, I knew I wanted to come back and visit the character but with better skills, more time and more patience. That's where this guy comes in, and, I won't lie, I spent a LOT of time on him. I've used Sigma 6 style bodies before and I always find them to be...difficult. I have typically found the joints to be incredibly tight; making the limbs hard to move without force and always causing joint rub. As such, this guy got the real treatment. Every joint was sanded down with my dremel, then gone over with several different grits of sandpaper before being scrubbed clean with dish soap and a toothbrush. Then of course, the entire body got a new paintjob and a seal job when all was said and done. Now onto the pieces that make him up. The cape is all cloth and removable; held onto him by that chain and gravity. The chest panel is some Halo figure's backpack I repainted, sculpted a little and attached on to the figure. Lightsaber hilt was an old Sigma sword hilt I took apart and the blade (which is removable) is a piece of dowel. Finally, the removable helmet was a Pez topper, hollowed out, cleaned up and repainted. The last thing I did was the 'Anakin style' head. It was originally a Sigma character wearing a hat...originally. I dremeled it down heavily until it was proportionate and I was satisfied, then repainted it. I'm fairly pleased to see him complete and I'll be sad to see him go. Hope you enjoy! ![]() |
